The mission:
A software project was struggling to meet urgent deadlines and quality requirements, so clearly defined scope and issue management tools and processes were required to determine priorities.

1. System design:
The challenges identified were a lack of design ownership, siloed SME knowledge, and a poor issue management process. We approached these by:
- Owning systems design for a subsystem. Leading daily standups with engineers to resolve blockers. Defining the functionality from an end-user perspective, supporting the SW engineers with work scope.
2. Document ownership and Robust issue management implementation:
- Creating a Single Point of Contact for queries, improving issue triaging and timely PR closure. HMI knowledge to close issues at source, avoiding lifecycle. Improving customer visibility with strong customer relationships.
- Detailed knowledge of system and project organization allows issues to be assigned more accurately, pushing issues through lifecycle faster and resolved with less SW involvement, even before entering lifecycle.
